6. Disclosure of Criminal Convictions – Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975)

Any volunteer appointment who may have contact with, or access to children or vulnerable adults will be subject to a statutory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at the enhanced level. The presence of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent anyone from volunteering. BCCC has a policy relating to this subject.
